A pay monthly funeral plan gives you the option to spread the cost, allowing you to pay for your funeral in instalments.
Following a funeral that hasn’t been paid for upfront, you will typically have only 28 days to pay the final bill. Unfortunately, this leaves many families with no option but to take out a loan or pay off the balance with a credit card, often with high-interest rates.
Paying for your funeral in advance allows you to fix the cost of your funeral, at today’s price, so no matter how much prices rise in future, your family will be protected from the financial burden of arranging your funeral whilst also allowing you to plan your funeral, your way.

1. Choose the funeral plan that is right for you
Like the sound of a monthly funeral plan? You’ll first need to choose which funeral plan is right for you before reviewing the payment options available to you.
At Simplicity, our range of monthly funeral plans include a combination of attendance and service options, so you can choose the funeral plan that most suits your needs:
The Lily Plan – our cheapest funeral plan provides a direct cremation, without a service beforehand or any mourners present.
The Magnolia Plan – a basic funeral with a short time in the chapel for up to 12 people. This allows for a small group of family and friends to reflect, play a song of their choice, and say a few words.
The Orchid Plan – a simple funeral with a family-led service. By choosing this option your family will have the opportunity to plan a funeral service that closely resembles what you may expect from a traditional funeral, but without a procession beforehand.
All of our monthly funeral plans include 24/7 collection of the deceased from the place of rest, cremation fees, a simple coffin, transportation of the deceased in a specialised funeral vehicle and the return of ashes, as standard.

2. Choose to pay for your funeral in instalments or a single lump sum
Once you have chosen the funeral plan that is right for you, you can review the payment options available to you. Our range of flexible payment options allow you to pay in a way that suits you.
Pay for your funeral in a lump sum
Although technically not a monthly funeral plan, this option is worth mentioning as it allows you to pay for your funeral in advance in a single, lump sum payment. By making a single payment, you can relax knowing your funeral costs are taken care of. Our direct cremation plan starts at £1,495 and includes the cost of cremation, provision of a simple coffin, care at one of our mortuaries and the return of ashes in a simple container.
Pay for your funeral in instalments over 12 months, at no extra cost
We know for many people a single payment won’t be a realistic option, which is why we also have monthly funeral plan options.
Many people are relieved to know that when opting to pay for your funeral in instalments across 12 months, you will not incur any interest fees on the total cost of the plan. This means your monthly funeral payments are manageable, leaving you without the financial worry.
Pay for your funeral in instalments across a duration that suits you
You can spread the cost of our monthly funeral plans over a duration of up to 5 years (60 months), provided all payments over any instalment term longer than 12 months are completed by the 85th birthday of the person named on the plan and the instalment term does not exceed the maximum term available.
In the event that you die before the balance is settled, your family will need to pay the remainder of costs.

3. Apply for a monthly funeral plan with Simplicity
As long as you are aged 18 or over, you’re guaranteed to be accepted for a Simplicity Cremations funeral plan.
